About the Role
Apple is looking for an Early Career Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join its Sales Engineering team in London.
This is an exciting opportunity for early-career engineers who want to work on software systems operating at significant global scale and contribute to the quality of applications used by Apple’s channel partners, retail teams, and internal business teams.
You’ll work across backend APIs, web applications, and native iOS applications, helping build smarter and more reliable testing practices through automation, engineering, and AI-powered quality solutions.
What You’ll Work On
The Sales Engineering team develops and supports products including:
- DCOTA (Digital Content Over The Air) — managing more than 1.4 million devices across partner stores
- StoreFront — an application used by partner staff for marketing campaigns, fulfilment, ticketing, and support
As an SDET, you’ll work closely with experienced software engineers and SDETs to improve test coverage, reduce repetitive manual testing, and build maintainable automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans for APIs, web applications, and native iOS apps
- Identify opportunities to automate testing and contribute to automation frameworks
- Develop and maintain functional, regression, and performance tests
- Use AI tools to generate test cases, automate test creation, and improve test coverage
- Collaborate with software engineers to understand product changes and assess potential risks
- Help ensure software releases meet the required quality and reliability standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language
- Ability to write and maintain test automation code
- Understanding of software testing and test design principles
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Interest in using AI to transform software quality engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience with test automation frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD integration
- Understanding of performance and load testing
- Experience using AI tools to generate or maintain test artefacts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Curiosity about software quality, automation, and emerging technologies
