As an Interim Engineering Intern, you will work alongside world-class engineers who are building next-generation connectivity and computing systems.
The Interim Engineering Intern – Systems role is designed for students passionate about hardware-software co-design, SoC architectures, wireless communications, and system validation.
In this role, you will be embedded in Qualcomm’s core engineering teams in Bengaluru to support the modeling, verification, performance tuning, and integration of system-level architectures for advanced chips and mobile platforms.
System Validation & Debug: Support system-level testing, SoC debugging, and performance profiling across embedded hardware/software platforms.
Architecture Modeling: Assist in analyzing algorithms, protocols, or hardware models using simulation and scripting tools.
FPGA & Board-Level Testing: Participate in FPGA prototyping, board bring-up, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation.
Data & Diagnostics: Log, analyze, and process system execution data to identify throughput bottlenecks and platform issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with hardware design, software development, and validation teams to verify complex system functions.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (B.E./B.Tech) or Master’s (M.E./M.Tech) in:
Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
Electrical Engineering (EEE)
VLSI & Embedded Systems
Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
Target Graduation Year: 2026
Programming Languages: Proficiency in C, C++, or object-oriented programming.
Scripting: Knowledge of Python, Tcl, Perl, or Shell scripting for automation and testing.
Hardware & Systems Fundamentals: Strong foundation in Digital Systems, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, or Operating Systems.
Protocols & Hardware Tools: Basic familiarity with HDLs (Verilog/VHDL), MATLAB, or bus protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PCIe) is a plus.
Communication Standards: Basic understanding of wireless/wired communication standards (5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) or multimedia hardware.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving ability, high academic discipline, and clear verbal and written communication.
Hands-on experience with commercial, industry-leading SoC and modem technologies.
Direct 1-on-1 mentorship from senior Qualcomm engineers.
Exposure to real-world semiconductor and system design workflows.
