Role: Developer / Validation Specialist
TCS is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Validation Engineer specializing in Infotainment Test Automation to join our automotive engineering division in Pune. In this role, you will play a crucial part in system-level validation, automated testing, and execution across multi-ECU environments for next-generation In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platforms.
This position demands a blend of strong technical depth in automotive communication protocols, automation strategies, and top-tier customer-facing communication skills to collaborate with global architects and development teams.
System-Level Validation: Lead and execute comprehensive system-level validation for complex infotainment features across multiple interacting ECUs.
Collaboration & Alignment: Drive active participation in technical requirement clarification discussions, defect triage meetings, and feature readiness reviews.
Customer Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key point of contact for daily interactions with customer teams, feature owners, architects, and developers. Confidently handle customer escalations, provide immediate technical insights, and rigorously follow through on action items.
Test Coordination & Review: Review comprehensive test cases, automated validation artifacts, and scripts to ensure maximum coverage and software quality.
Delivery Management: Estimate testing effort, schedule sprint activities, manage task priorities, and consistently meet strict test delivery timelines while identifying and mitigating execution risks early.
Mentorship & Innovation: Mentor junior engineers on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test setups, automation scripting, and validation methodologies. Actively propose process optimizations to improve HIL utilization and overall test efficiency.
IVI Domain Expertise: Profound understanding of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems, underlying system architectures, multimedia management, voice recognition, and ECU-to-ECU communications.
Connectivity & Navigation: Hands-on validation experience with core connectivity features including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Navigation systems.
Automotive Protocols: Robust working knowledge of standard automotive communication networks and protocols, specifically CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills tailored for complex technical reporting and daily cross-functional customer engagement.
Experience supporting agile ceremonies including sprint planning, requirement grooming, and sprint retrospectives.
Prior exposure to scripting languages for test automation and automated test execution benches (HIL frameworks).
Seamless cross-functional collaboration experience across software development, systems engineering, HMI, connectivity teams, and external Tier-1 suppliers.
